Galveston Art League Spring Show - April 5, 2008
What a Beautiful Place to have a Show!
Even
the back entrance was impressive!
The
historic Galvez Hotel was an elegant setting for a beautiful show. For
the Galveston Art League, this was their first show run by Lone Star Art
Guild rules, and they REALLY put on a show to remember!

The
Galveston Art League handled the registration like champs! I managed to
miss getting Margot Snider, their president, in this picture! All I got
was her elbow..bummer! The other lovely ladies that I DID manage to get
in the picture are Bets Anderson, Doris Dahme, and Andy Karjala.
I
got one of the beautiful brides and her flower girl to pose for me!

I had three helpers. While I took pictures, Patty Browning (SLAA), Judy Beard (ALFB), and Joyce Kelm (ALFB) , president of the Lone Star Art Guild, sold raffle tickets. We are raffling three donated paintings to help cover convention and LSAG operating costs. Three of our best artists were kind enough to donate their artwork, Marty Hatcher, Lesley Humphrey and Nellie Kress. That's Nellie's donation in the picture.It's entitled "Ginger Peachy".
This
picture was taken during the awards ceremony. This is Bill Bonham, the
show organizer, and Margot Snider, the president of the Galveston Art
League. Bill looks a little beat! Anyone out there who has organized one
of these shows knows what a HUGE job it is and how confusing it can be.
Bill did a FANTASTIC job getting this all together and oh, my...what a
WONDERFUL place to have a show! It was a lot of fun and everyone seemed
to enjoy themselves! We need to thank Bill, Margot, and the rest of the
Galveston league for a great show! Well done!
Since
I missed Margot in the first picture of the registration team, I went
back and caught her and Bets hard at work.
